The world Wide Web is a collection of web pages
stored on computers called servers that are located in companies that host
(provide storage of) the web pages. Many of the web pages have links
to other web pages, which if viewed as a diagram would look much like a
spider web; hence the term Web.

The reason that a Web Page is needed is because
of the ubiquitous nature of the World Wide Web and because it is available to
customers 24 hrs a day. Every business, whether large or small, needs to
have a presence in whatever media prospective customers will use to find your
business. Presence in the World Wide Web is just as important to you as
the yellow pages, newspaper, radio or television and is another tool that
businesses have to reach both perspective and existing customers. Because
Web Pages can be updated quickly and inexpensively, they are a good
communication media when the content is dynamic and time sensitive.

What
should I put on my Web Pages?
The best way to determine what to put on your
web page is to surf the internet to look at the web pages of your competitors or
similar markets. Seeing what others have done is a great way to stimulate
your own ideas.

The length of time depends on the complexity of
your pages and how much custom work is needed on graphics, logo's etc. A simple
site may only take a few hours to create, while a complex one can take many
more. In addition, there is time required to set up a domain name (your
company name) and arrange for the hosting of your pages.
Usually all of this will take less than
7 calendar days.

The
cost
of your Web Pages will depend on how much time is required to design them and
whether you have any extra items added. In addition to our full featured
design package, we offer two low cost entry level packages that provide a way
for you to get on the web with a minimal investment.

customers get their first impression of your company.
This home page might include a company LOGO, a short description of your
company, or a picture of several products.
Content
Page - This is where you put text, pictures, charts, or graphics that
present the story you are telling. This might be a product description,
news release, or just about anything.
Photo

sell. There may be links from smaller thumbnail image on other pages to
these photos. The purpose of the thumbnail image is that it is a smaller
file which can load rapidly. If the person viewing the page wants to see
the larger more detailed photo they can click on the thumbnail. Click here

What are some features that can be put on Web Pages
-
Counters
to track visitors to your site
-
Maps to give directions
-
Local weather and news to provide information
-
Active forms (feed-back forms) to provide a way for visitors to send you
information
-
Animations to spice up your
site (We strongly recommend that you limit the use of this to speed up the
loading of your pages - and too much of a good thing can be annoying)
-
Search tools for visitors to
find random information on your site

How
will people find my Web Site?
As part of our design service we will register
your Web Site with the major search engines. Be aware that it may take several weeks for
them to make the update to their files. You should also inform your
customers that you have a new Web Site, and you should make changes to your
business cards, letterheads and advertising material to show you new Web Site
name.

We already have a Web
Site, can you improve it?
We can work with your existing site to see what
can be done to improve it's performance or to just redesign it if that is what
you want. We would expect that if
we were to do this, that you would agree to have us be your Web Page design
company.
